COBRA YOUTH BASKETBALL IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

COBRA / IMPACT MERGER

In June, the Cobra Board entered into an agreement to merge the Cobra basketball program with the Iowa Impact basketball program. The joining of the two programs will provide an opportunity for Cobra players to be exposed to a higher level of play if they desire and to also access camps and clinics. At the same time, the Cobra League will continue to operate the same as it has in the past.

The Cobra Board believes this is the best way to continue to offer low-cost basketball opportunities to players from Council Bluffs and Southwest Iowa.

 What will change?

• Online registration will be done through Impact's registration program.

• A new contact point for questions about the program will be established, and a new league administration will be put in place.

• Players will have access to camps and clinics.

• Players will receive notice of opportunities to try out for the next level of basketball.

 What will not change?

• The low-cost fee structure will remain the same.

• Teams will continue to play against teams of comparable ability.

• The Cobra League will remain on Monday and Tuesday nights, and will continue to be a winter league, beginning in January.

If you would like to find out more about Impact Basketball, please visit the website at: Iowa Impact Basketball.

We believe this change supports the missions of both organizations. The merger between Iowa Impact Basketball and Cobra Optimist Basketball will provide additional opportunities for players, while maintaining the basic structure and purpose of the Cobra League.

We appreciate your patience as we continue setting up a new framework to deliver better basketball opportunities to kids in Council Bluffs and Southwest Iowa.

If you have any questions, please contact Kenny Neelon at the email address shown below.
